Role Purpose

The main goal of the General Worker Leave Reliever is to support the production department by:

  • Meeting daily production targets on time.

You will play a key role in keeping production running smoothly, especially when other staff members are on leave.


Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker Leave Reliever, your day-to-day tasks will include:

Production and Quality Control

  • Delivering high-quality products in line with company standards.
  • Maintaining top housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Following all company rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Handling product stacking, stock picking, and damage repacks accurately.

Efficiency and Maintenance

  • Working efficiently to meet daily production and bulk plan targets.
  • Assisting with planned maintenance of production equipment.
  • Managing administration tasks and record-keeping correctly.

Health and Safety

  • Following strict food safety guidelines.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety rules.
  • Helping to maintain hygiene standards within the production area.

Skills and Attributes Required

To succeed in this role, you need to have:

  • The ability to operate and maintain equipment such as scales and production machinery.
  • A good understanding of the production process.
  • Knowledge of quality management principles.
  • Strong numerical skills to accurately convert units for batch calculations.

  • Working in a hot, noisy, and dusty environment (including maize dust).
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed, including after hours, weekends, and public holidays.
