Front Shop Assistant
Our client, a well-established pharmacy in Pierre van Ryneveld, is seeking a dynamic and energetic Front Shop Assistant to join their team. The pharmacy offers excellent service to the community and requires a reliable individual to ensure the smooth running of the front shop. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sales experience who enjoys working in a health and customer service-oriented environment.
Position: Front Shop Assistant
Salary: R16,000 (negotiable)
Benefits: Discounted medication
Working hours: 09:00 – 19:00
Location: Pierre van Ryneveld
Responsibilities:
- Assisting and advising customers in the front shop.
- Driving and optimizing sales, including link-sales.
- Manning the till and ensuring the cash register balances.
- Ordering, unpacking, and organizing stock, as well as managing KBAs.
- Meeting with reps and placing orders.
- Training students working after hours/weekends.
- Working after hours if required.
- Keeping the front shop neat and organized.
- Arranging promotions and identifying “slow movers” for return, in consultation with the employer.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Sales experience is essential.
- Ability to execute tasks promptly.
- Confidence in performing sales and link-sales.
- Strong product knowledge and ability to remain positive under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Precision in ensuring the cash register balances correctly.
Skills and Certifications:
- Strong ability to handle customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Internal customer service skills.
- Ability to promote sales and manage stock effectively.
Short- and Long-term Goals:
- Short-term: Maintain customer satisfaction and effectively manage promotions.
- Long-term: Ensure accurate stock management and control of the front shop.
Challenges of the Position:
- Dealing with customers who may be ill or have exhausted their medical funds can be challenging.
- The work is frequently interrupted by walk-in customers requiring immediate assistance.
