About the Job
As a Sales Consultant at Virgin Active, you will help grow the company’s membership base by promoting the Virgin Active brand and services. Your mission is to inspire people to join Virgin Active and support them in starting their fitness journey.
You will be responsible for generating leads, closing sales, and building lasting relationships with members. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that the club’s monthly sales goals are met while providing exceptional customer experiences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Sales Planning and Growth
- Plan daily and monthly activities to generate new sales leads.
- Book appointments with potential clients and give presentations to promote Virgin Active memberships.
- Follow up on leads to successfully reach and exceed monthly sales targets.
- Understand and apply Virgin Active’s sales systems and processes.
- Analyse sales statistics to create strategies for increasing revenue and strengthening the brand.
2. Customer Engagement
- Build relationships with prospective and existing members to grow loyalty and referrals.
- Identify each customer’s individual needs and match them with the right Virgin Active products and services.
- Overcome objections and close sales with the support of your Sales Manager or Regional Sales Coach.
- Conduct service calls to keep members informed and engaged.
3. Marketing and Promotions
- Promote Virgin Active through community events, health days, and in-club activities.
- Represent the Virgin Active brand as an ambassador at local marketing events.
- Develop creative ideas to increase awareness of the Virgin Active brand and attract new members.
4. Reporting and Analysis
- Keep accurate records of daily activities using the company’s reporting tools.
- Provide updates to the Sales Manager on performance, challenges, and achievements.
- Use market data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Minimum Requirements
To apply for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate – essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales or Marketing is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sales with a proven track record.
- Strong sales and promotion skills to effectively sell Virgin Active memberships and services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Financial understanding, including the ability to calculate sales ratios and manage budgets.
- Strong telephone communication and listening skills.
- Knowledge of the health and fitness industry is an advantage.
