Valterra Platinum is currently offering the following learnership positions:
- Learnership – Electrician (x1 position)
- Learnership – Boilermaker Plater (x2 positions)
These positions are based at Mototolo Mine, South Africa.
What the Programme Offers
The Engineering Learnership Programme is structured to combine theoretical learning with practical workplace training.
By the end of the programme, successful learners will:
- Receive a nationally recognized Artisan qualification.
- Gain valuable on-the-job training and technical experience.
- Be fully prepared for a long-term career in the mining and engineering industries.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this programme, applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Matric Certificate with:
- Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy) – Minimum 40%
- Physical Science – Minimum 40%
- English – Minimum 40%
OR
- N2 Certificate or higher with the relevant subjects for each discipline:
- Boilermaker Plater:
- Plating & Structural Steelwork/Welders Theory
- Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings
- Electrical:
- Electrical Trade Theory / Electrotechnology / Electrotechnics
- Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings
- Boilermaker Plater:
OR
- NCV Level 4 Certificate in a relevant trade, with all subjects passed at a minimum of 40%.

- Proof of residence, stamped by the local tribal office or municipality (for applicants from host communities).
