Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile company bank and GL accounts within set timelines
  • Investigate, resolve, and report banking discrepancies
  • Collect and manage store documentation for banking queries
  • Integrate new business developments (new stores, bank accounts, acquisitions)
  • Liaise with foreign banks (e.g. Lloyds, HSBC) on charges and cash queries
  • Complete and coordinate banking month-end processes
  • Ensure KPIs and service-level timelines are met
  • Support the banking team during absences
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Tax, Customer Services, and Accounts Payable
  • Use Oracle banking systems to track, balance, and report transactions

Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12) with solid work experience
  • Post-matric finance qualification advantageous

Experience & Knowledge

  • Finance experience in a retail environment (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Foreign currency translation and conversion
    • Bank card and cash-banking queries
    • Resolving bank discrepancies
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Excel, Word, Outlook
