Triton Express invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their upcoming Learnership Opportunities (Talent Pool for Future Intake). This opportunity is available for youth who want to grow their careers in the logistics and trucking industry. While there is no immediate open position, selected candidates will be considered for future learnership placements. This means applicants who qualify stand a strong chance of being contacted when intake opens.
Why This Learnership Matters
Finding skilled work in South Africa is not always easy, especially for young people with limited experience. Triton Express is offering a valuable chance for unemployed youth to learn real-life professional driving skills while gaining work experience at the same time. The programme runs for 12 months and includes both classroom learning and on-the-job training. Successful learners receive a National Certificate in Professional Driving or an Occupational Certificate: Truck Driver, which is recognised in the logistics industry.
This programme is especially helpful for those who want to start a long-term career in the transport and logistics sector. Many companies now prefer drivers who have completed professional training, and this learnership gives learners a solid foundation to compete in the working world.
About Triton Academy
Triton Academy is accredited by TETA and QCTO, ensuring that training meets industry standards. The academy focuses on providing skills that the logistics industry needs, especially in professional driving. Training currently takes place in Johannesburg, but the academy also supports customers in other locations wherever possible.
By joining this programme, learners are exposed to a working environment that helps them grow their confidence, learn responsibility, and understand how a logistics company operates. The programme combines theory, practical training, and real tasks that a professional driver handles daily.
What Learners Will Do
During the learnership, participants will be expected to perform tasks that help them learn how to work as safe, responsible, and professional truck drivers. Some of the key duties include:
Safe Handling of Goods
Learners must ensure that all products and goods are safely packed, secured, and handled properly during transportation. This helps prevent damage and protects both the goods and the driver.
Operating Company Vehicles
Drivers need to manage their vehicles under different road and weather conditions. This means staying alert, following driving regulations, and always focusing on safety.
Meeting Delivery Requirements
A professional driver must ensure that deliveries and collections are completed on schedule. This is important because customers expect high service standards.
Reporting Challenges
Learners must report road problems, vehicle issues, or delays as soon as possible so supervisors can assist. Good communication is key in the logistics sector.
General Workplace Duties
Some additional duties include helping around the warehouse and keeping the yard clean and well-organised. These small tasks teach discipline and teamwork.
Customer Service
Learners will learn how to communicate politely and respectfully with customers and colleagues. Good service is a strong part of the Triton Express brand.
