Job Purpose

As a Traffic Marshall in Richards Bay, you will provide clear directions to maintain organized vehicle movement, reduce congestion, and promote efficient traffic flow in and around the site. This role ensures safety and supports operational excellence in our Gas Operations Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Bidvest Tank Terminals vehicles safely, upholding the company’s brand image.
• Communicate lane changes, traffic patterns, and adjustments to drivers.
• Regulate traffic speed in work zones, ensuring adherence to posted limits.
• Inspect pathways for infrastructure damage and report findings.
• Complete daily vehicle log sheets, recording times and kilometers traveled.
• Safeguard documents and keys at the end of each shift.
• Manage vehicle cleaning and maintenance, ensuring they are well-maintained.
• Report accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Conduct weekly vehicle inspections and provide reports.
• Transport employees safely to and from site areas or other destinations.
• Collect and distribute consumables and items to sites as needed.
• Direct traffic flow during emergencies.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Code 10 driver’s license with Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is advantageous.
• 1 year of experience as a Flagman or Corporate Driver.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Clean driving record with no traffic violations.
• Sound knowledge of traffic regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
