About the job
The primary responsibility of the materials supplier is to ensure production lines are issued with the right kits at the right time. This means that kits and final assembly materials must be picked correctly and that the right kits are issued as per the picking slip, and when issued the receiver must sign on the picking slip to acknowledge receipts.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Production kitting
Effective picking and kitting of components by using the picking slip
Ensure production lines receive material on time at regular intervals throughout the day
Use batch scheduler as your trigger for production kitting
Liaise with Specialist manager for possible change of plan regarding kitting
Identify, and record shortages on a shortage list
Verify bin-locations and stock levels
Do stock verification as and when requested to do so
Participate in quarterly, financial year end and shut down stocktake
Reach Truck: Binning and picking using reach truck
Offloading of trucks using forklift
Pick items by following FIFO principles
Housekeeping
Binning of material
Kitting for ECM’s (final assembler)
Pick items on Stores Requisitions when required.
Responsible for the Final Assembly area regarding housekeeping. No overtstocking on the line and ensure safe and net working area
Investigate shortages and variances
Providing General assistance to stores activities
Liaise with Procurement department on shortages and surpluses
Communicate stock issues to the warehouse supervisor or Warehouse Management
Verify picked kits to ensure they matches with the pick slip and correct where possible
Counter sign all kits before they are withdrawn from stores
Quality
Replace rejected items from the production area and record on the requisition Book
Provide operational support to stores activities
Provide support in terms of absenteeism to cover open gabs.
Responsible for booking consumables and requisitions from inter-departments including reservations onto SAP system
Dispatch
Receiving meters from production
Reconciliation of physical vs. production reports
Scanning of meters
Receiving dispatch from commercial and preparing products that needs to be dispatched, that includes Packing, wrapping and stripping meters and labelling
Loading pallets of meters to the logistics company
Reach Truck: Binning and picking using reach truck
Offloading of trucks using forklift
Supplying empty pallets to production and moving finished completed orders to finished goods
Administration
Planning & Coordination of kit collection process by production supervisors
Picking slip Control File

3 years working experience within Warehouse environment
SAP(MM)

Minimum Education Qualification
Minimum: Matric and Certificate in Stores and Stock Control
Desired: National Diploma – Stock Control /Inventory Management
Must have forklift and reach truck license
