Responsibilities (What You’ll Be Doing Daily)
This role involves a mix of gardening support, cleaning, stock duties and maintenance.
Plant & Nursery Support Duties
Assisting with plant care
You will help with:
- watering plants when required
- assisting with the general care of nursery stock
This means you must be gentle and careful when handling plants because customers want healthy stock.
Stock & Sales Floor Support
Restocking and product handling
You will assist with:
- repacking stock where needed
- restocking products as required
- moving stock to the sales floor
Supporting loading bay operations
You will also:
- assist loading bay assistants with offloading stock
- help with pricing stock
- help move stock to the sales floor
This part of the job needs someone who can work fast, follow instructions, and lift items safely.
Cleaning & Tidiness (Very Important)
A garden centre must always look clean and welcoming. You’ll be expected to keep areas neat including:
- Garden Centre and sales floor
- parking lot and exterior areas
- loading bay and loading bay exterior
- general work areas
Cleaning duties include:
- cleaning grounds and general tidiness
- sweeping/blowing allocated areas
- cleaning guttering
- making sure storm water drainage channels are clean
- keeping outdoor verges tidy

Deliveries & Vehicle Support
