About the Role

As a Customer Service Agent at Shoprite, you will be at the heart of the company’s commitment to delivering top-quality service. You will be responsible for handling customer queries, resolving issues, and ensuring that every customer has a positive experience when interacting with Shoprite.

This is a full-time permanent position with 45 working hours per week, scheduled across five days, Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Agent, your main duties will include:

  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring every customer feels valued and supported.

  • Acting promptly in urgent or emergency situations, following Shoprite’s guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Education:

  • Essential: Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • Beneficial: Diploma, degree, or short courses in Communications or a related field.

Experience:

  • Essential: At least 5 years of experience in a customer service role or similar environment.
  • Advantageous: Previous experience in a retail or contact centre setting.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Online.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
