About the Role
As a Kitchen Deep Clean Assistant, you’ll play an important role in keeping kitchen areas spotless and safe. You’ll work closely with a skilled cleaning team, making sure all surfaces, equipment, and work areas meet top hygiene and safety standards. Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants should have:
- A Grade 10 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in hygiene services, deep cleaning, or specialized cleaning (advantageous but not essential).
- Good planning and organizational skills to manage cleaning tasks effectively.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene practices and safe cleaning techniques.
- Familiarity with cleaning products, tools, and equipment.
- Understanding of occupational health and safety will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow instructions carefully.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Kitchen Deep Clean Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include a mix of preparation, hands-on cleaning, safety checks, and teamwork.
Preparation and Setup
- Remove or cover all food items, utensils, and equipment from cleaning zones before starting.
- Place safety signs such as “Wet Floor” and cordon off areas to prevent accidents.
- Prepare and mix cleaning chemicals according to Servest’s safety and hygiene standards.
Surface and Equipment Cleaning
- Deep clean all kitchen surfaces including walls, floors, counters, and splashbacks.
- Scrub and sanitize sinks, preparation tables, and other food contact areas.
- Clean and degrease cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers.
Detail Cleaning
- Take apart and clean kitchen appliances and removable parts like fryer baskets, filters, and grates.
- Clean under and behind heavy kitchen equipment where grease and dirt build up.
- Remove scale, oil, and grime from taps, drains, and pipework.
Waste Management
- Collect and dispose of waste, grease, and dirty water safely and responsibly.
- Disinfect and replace bins, waste chutes, and refuse containers.
Safety Compliance
- Always wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, aprons, masks, and non-slip shoes.
- Report any faulty equipment or hazards to your supervisor immediately.
Final Inspection and Reset
- Assist the team leader with a final inspection to ensure every area meets hygiene standards.
- Return cleaned equipment and utensils to their proper places.
- Ensure the kitchen is sanitized, safe, and fully ready for use.
Teamwork and Communication
- Work closely with the deep cleaning team leader and follow instructions carefully.
- Report any challenges, issues, or safety risks immediately.
