Randwater x12 Electrical Assistant
Rand Water is seeking 12 motivated Electrical Assistants to join our Bulk Water Services – Operations team in Glenvista, Gauteng, on a 6-month fixed-term contract. As an Electrical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Electrical Artisans and Technicians in ensuring the smooth operation of our water infrastructure. You will assist with preventative and ad-hoc maintenance, project management, and various electrical tasks to meet our high standards.

Responsibilities:
- Assist Electrical Artisans and Technicians with preventative maintenance, ad-hoc maintenance, and project management activities.
- Carry hand tools and gather materials for jobs.
- Clean motor control circuits (MCC) and work areas after job completion.
- Perform electric motor testing and cable jointing.
- Assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unloading, and checking deliveries.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine wiring and equipment locations, ensuring compliance with building and safety codes.
- Conduct electrical inspections of plants and pump stations, reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 and N3 to N6 or S4 in Electrical or equivalent.
- Previous working experience in the electrical field is advantageous.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade.
- Knowledge of electrical principles.
- Ability to perform minor electrical repairs.
- Physically and medically fit.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safe working procedures.
- Driver’s license is advantageous.
