The Sewer Pump Station General Worker will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining sewer pump stations and wastewater treatment facilities, including gardening tasks and reporting any operational issues to the supervisor. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operations, hygiene, and safety at the pump station.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties for this position involve both operational inspections and maintenance tasks to keep the sewer pump station running efficiently. These include:

Signing of the Pump Station Register to document site visits.
Conducting weekly pump station inspections and noting any irregularities.
Sweeping and washing floors in the pump station, as required.
Dusting electrical panels and washing handrails weekly to maintain a safe environment.
Removing litter from the site and ensuring proper disposal in designated bins.
Maintaining the yard by cutting grass and keeping the garden neat and tidy.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working in a sewer pump station or wastewater environment.
Must be physically and medically fit to handle the demands of the job.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements
