This programme aligns with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and offers participants the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized qualification upon successful completion.
Training Modules Include:
- Drone regulations and airspace laws
- Flight planning and drone safety protocols
- Remote Pilot Licence (RPL) preparation
- Hands-on flight simulations and field practice
- Introduction to drone data collection and analysis (GIS, imaging, etc.)
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with the setup and safe operation of drones Learn to plan drone flights and check flight conditions
- Help capture aerial photos and videos for various projects
- Support with equipment checks, battery charging, and basic maintenance
- Help download and organize drone footage and data
- Attend training sessions to work towards a Remote Pilot License (RPL)
- Work closely with the drone team and follow instructions from supervisors
Who Should Apply?
- Age: 18+
- Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination Interest in technology, photography, or aviation
- Willing to work nightshift
- No criminal record (important for future SACAA licensing)
- Basic English reading & writing skills (required for passing theory tests)
- Willingness to undergo training and licensing (SACAA RPL- Remote Pilot Licence)
- Valid Drivers Licence.
