About the PG Bison Apprenticeship 2025-2027
PG Bison is looking for applicants who would like to obtain practical work exposure for motivated individuals who require an apprenticeship to boost their careers. The PG Bison Apprenticeship Programme presents X20 positions for motivated individuals eager to build careers in technical and engineering trades. Selected candidates will participate in comprehensive on-the-job training, complete theoretical modules through FP&M SETA, and acquire valuable hands-on experience in plant operations, maintenance, and installations.
This initiative provides an exceptional platform for apprentices to strengthen their problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities while laying a strong foundation for long-term success in the engineering sector. By combining classroom-based learning with practical application, the programme ensures that candidates are well-prepared to meet the demands of their chosen trades.
The apprenticeships are available in the following disciplines:
- Millwrights
- Boilermakers
- Electricians
- Fitters & Turners
- Diesel Mechanics
You will be required to perform the duties below:
- The incumbent will be required to complete all FP&M SETA theoretical modules relevant to the trade
- The incumbent must complete logbooks or other assessment tools provided by PG Bison and/or the training provider to document workplace experiences, attend all scheduled study periods and theoretical classes, and engage fully in all learning activities
- The incumbent will participate in intensive on-the-job training as well as other trade-related learning, including exposure to plant processes
- The incumbent will also receive training in problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, support the production process by ensuring adequate availability and reliability, and demonstrate the ability to carry out practical maintenance and installations
- Candidates will be expected to sign an 18-month apprenticeship contract with PG Bison and the FP&M SETA.

The PG Bison Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Hold a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science, or an N3 qualification in Mathematics and Science (N4 will be an added advantage).
