Job Purpose

The Administration Clerk: Vocational Rehabilitation role is a 12-month fixed-term contract position within the Compensation Fund in Pretoria. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative, supply chain, personnel, and financial support to the Orthotic & Rehabilitation Chief Directorate, contributing to efficient service delivery and stakeholder engagement. The position offers a salary of R228,321 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits, ideal for candidates seeking government experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective administrative support, including document management and data entry, to the Vocational Rehabilitation unit.
  • Assist with supply chain tasks, such as procurement and inventory control, within the Directorate.
  • Support personnel administration, including leave records and staff coordination.
  • Render financial administration services, such as processing payments and budget tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with Batho Pele Principles in delivering customer-focused services.
  • Maintain accurate records and protect personal information per the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Requirements

  • Grade 12/Matric certificate.
  • South African citizen with a valid ID.
  • No prior experience required; experience in a rehabilitation or vocational environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Compensation Fund policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Understanding of COIDA and relevant legislation impacting the Orthotic & Rehabilitation Chief Directorate.
  • Familiarity with Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, and POPIA.
  • Skills in digital acumen, communication, conflict management, stakeholder management, and service delivery innovation.

Preferences

  • Experience in administrative roles within a rehabilitation or vocational setting.
  • Basic knowledge of data gathering, analysis, and strategic reporting.
