About the Role

The main purpose of this position is to ensure all PEP store security systems are functioning at their best and well-maintained according to set company standards.

You will work in PEP’s central in-house control room, where you’ll monitor alarm and CCTV systems, respond to incidents quickly, and help address criminal activities in stores. Your role will directly contribute to reducing losses and improving store safety.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Control Room Technical Support team, you will be responsible for:

Monitoring all security systems across PEP stores.
Providing remote support to alarm and CCTV technicians.
Adding and changing alarm and safe pin codes.
Handling administrative tasks related to in-store safe requirements.
Monitoring and managing fail-to-close and fail-to-open alerts.
Updating the department technical tracker sheet regularly.
Creating work orders for unresolved technical issues.
Escalating complex issues to higher support levels when necessary.
Auditing store alarm and CCTV programming and setup.
Providing basic technical assistance for store-related alarm and CCTV issues.
Managing and updating technical WhatsApp groups to streamline communication.

Minimum Job Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 / Matric certificate
PSIRA Grade B certification
3-5 years of experience in a security or technical environment
Experience working with Patriot Monitoring Software or similar monitoring systems
Knowledge of Texecom alarm systems with backend solutions like Wintex or Maintex
Familiarity with Hikvision systems, including remote system programming and monitoring
Knowledge of Networks and IT will be an advantage
