We are looking for a Shop Assistant Cashier to join our team! As a Shop Assistant Cashier, you’ll need to ensure our customers have a great time shopping. You’ll help them find what they need, handle transactions carefully, and keep the store looking good. This job needs someone who’s good at talking to people, pays close attention to details, and always puts the customer first.
What you’ll do
This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.
- Always provide great service to customers, making sure they have a good experience.
- Ring up customers’ purchases accurately at the checkout.
- Help customers choose products to make their shopping better and maybe buy more.
- Answer phone calls from customers and sort out their questions or requests quickly.
- Keep customer records up-to-date and correct.
- Make sure all the stock on the shelves looks good and is easy to find.
- Keep bringing out new products and filling up the shelves when they get empty.
- Make sure all the prices are shown right and there are nice displays around the store.
- Work with the team to receive and put away deliveries neatly using special tools and software.
- Help keep the store clean and tidy all the time.
- Get everything sorted and ready for the next day’s business.
- Assist the manager in getting ready for stock checks.
- Look after the store’s equipment, making sure it’s safe and accounted for.
- Know and follow all the health and safety rules.
- Handle cash and card payments properly and without mistakes.
- Take care of the daily banking tasks efficiently.
- Understand how much we need to sell each day, week, and month to do well.
- Help out with plans to stop losing stock and make more money.
Requirements

- Matric
- Experience: Cashier, Retail, Sales, Customer Service, Store Assistant, Store Associate
- Within 15km from job
- Clear criminal record
Preferences
Meeting the preferences would be a plus, but if you don’t, it won’t stop companies from considering you.
