We’re looking for a Shop Assistant Cashier to join our team! In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. You’ll assist them in finding products, accurately process transactions, and help maintain a neat and appealing store. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be doing during your shifts:

Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Accurately process customer purchases at the checkout.
Assist customers in selecting products to enhance their shopping experience.
Handle customer inquiries and requests efficiently over the phone.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
Ensure shelves are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
Restock shelves as products sell out.
Ensure product prices are correctly displayed and the store looks inviting.
Collaborate with the team to receive and organize deliveries using specialized tools and software.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the store.
Prepare the store for the next day’s operations.
Support the manager in preparing for stock counts.
Take care of store equipment, ensuring it is safe and properly maintained.
Follow all health and safety regulations.
Process cash and card payments accurately.
Manage daily banking tasks with precision.
Be aware of daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
Contribute to stock loss prevention strategies and sales optimization plans.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:

Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF Level 4.
Experience: Cashier, Customer Service, General Worker, Store Assistant, Store Associate, Retail, Sales and General Clerk.
Proficiency in English.
Clear criminal record.
