Full Job Description

Optimi is looking to hire well-organised, people-oriented professionals to join the team as Online School Educators. The ideal candidates should be optimistic, open to new experiences, and team players with strong communication abilities. We are looking for Online School Educators in the following subjects:

Mathematics & Mathematical Literacy (Gr 8-12).
Mathematics & Physical Sciences (Gr 10-12).
History & Tourism (Gr 8-12).
EGD & Technology (Gr 8-12).
Afrikaans Home Language & Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal (Gr 8-12).
Afrikaans Home Language & Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal (Gr 7-9).
English Home Language & English First Additional Language (Gr 8-12).

REQUIREMENTS

Completed or in their final year of level 7 Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in the education field.
SACE registered.
Extensive subject knowledge and good teaching and assessment skills.
Experience with online teaching (will be advantageous when applying for the position).
Computer literacy (essential) : MS suite, Google Chrome.
Fluent in Afrikaans and English.

DUTIES

Teach learners based on national curriculum guidelines within your specialist subject areas.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons.
Assist learners in unlocking problems through clear and insightful explanations and guidance.
Support the leadership team to implement the online school’s development plan.
Collaborate with parents, guardians, caregivers, support workers, and other professionals to safeguard and ensure the educational and holistic welfare needs of learners.
Research, suggest, apply, and advise on new trends, products, and technologies relevant to education.
Ensure the highest standards of quality and apply innovative teaching methods.
Provide feedback to the management team on teaching and learning sessions and the learners’ progress.
Manage parent interactions and general communications.
Manage the daily tasks such as e-mails and interaction/communication with all relevant stakeholders.
