Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this HR Clerk post, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of relevant HR legislation, policies, and prescripts
- Understanding of Human Resource practices within the Public Service
- Working knowledge of the PERSAL system
- Computer literacy (MS Office applications)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a team
Added Advantages:
- Possession of a PERSAL certificate
- Experiential learning or practical exposure in the HR field
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR unit, including but not limited to:
- Supporting recruitment, selection, and appointment processes
- Sorting, capturing, and numbering job applications
- Planning and arranging logistics for meetings
- Attending meetings and recording minutes
- Drafting HR submissions, offer letters, and regret letters
- Coordinating and facilitating personnel suitability checks
- Capturing and processing recruitment and benefits-related transactions on PERSAL
- Administering conditions of service and employee benefits
- Processing leave applications, verifying documentation, and capturing leave on PERSAL
- Printing and managing HR documents via PERSAL and EDMS
- Liaising with finance regarding approved leave gratuity payments
- Responding to employee enquiries related to leave and benefits
- Managing employee records, including opening, auditing, and maintaining staff files
- Capturing beneficiary nominations and supporting pension withdrawal processes
- Providing general administrative support within the HR unit
