What You’ll Do

As an HR Assistant, you will support the HR department with daily administrative tasks and employee support functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily HR administrative activities
  • Support HR projects and service delivery initiatives
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Conduct interviews, reference checks and verification checks
  • Help manage HRIS systems and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and legislative requirements
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external HR stakeholders
  • Assist with HR and business-related projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or Administration
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Suite)

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in HR administration or a similar role
  • Exposure to business processes (1–3 years)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Ability to plan, self-manage and take initiative

Advantageous Skills

The following will be beneficial but not mandatory:

  • HR Information System (HRIS) experience
  • Experience with behavioural assessments and competency mapping
  • Knowledge of IR processes and labour practices
  • MIE accreditation and experience conducting pre-employment checks
