Minimum Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist with general ground maintenance and infrastructure upkeep within the reserve. Duties include:

Ground Maintenance

  • Irrigation and watering of plants and lawns
  • Weeding, pruning, and trimming plants
  • Cutting, seeding, and transplanting plants
  • Lawn mowing and maintaining garden edges
  • Maintaining flower beds
  • Disposing of organic waste and digging compost
  • Spraying plants and assisting with pest control

Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Maintenance of gravel and paved roads
  • Maintenance of painted surfaces and canals
  • Unblocking drains
  • Minor repairs to furniture
  • Washing government vehicles

Environmental and Safety Support

  • Participating in veld fire firefighting when required
