About the GIBB Water and Integrated Infrastructure (WIIG) & Transport YES Learnership 2025
GIBB is searching for applicants who would like to obtain a YES learnership focusing on the Water and Integrated Infrastructure (WIIG) and Transport department. The GIBB Water and Integrated Infrastructure (WIIG) & Transport YES Learnership provides selected YES learners with placements in the company’s WIIG and Transport delivery unit. This opportunity allows participants to engage in meaningful, high-impact projects while gaining exposure to a fast-paced and innovative engineering environment. Learners will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to the delivery of essential infrastructure, and develop practical skills that will serve as a foundation for future career growth.

This initiative forms part of the YES (Youth Employment Service) Programme, a collaborative effort between businesses and the government aimed at tackling youth unemployment across both the private and public sectors. Eligibility Criteria

  • Obtain a BTech or BEng in Mechanical Engineering

2. Personal Attributes

  • Be a South African citizen by birth
  • Fall within the age range of 18 to 35 years old
  • Remain unemployed and available to work on a 12-month fixed-term contract
  • Avoid being a previous YES programme beneficiary
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using a personal computer
  • Possess CAD literacy, preferably in AutoCAD or a similar program
  • Show eagerness to acquire new skills related to your field
  • Act with responsibility and honesty.
