🚧 Job Overview
As a General Assistant, you’ll work closely with Cooks and Chefs to support food preparation, maintain kitchen and canteen cleanliness, serve food, and handle the cash register. This role is hands-on and fast-paced – ideal for someone who is reliable, team-oriented, and enjoys being active during their shift.
📍 Key Duties and Responsibilities
Here’s what you’ll be doing on a daily basis:
- Assisting with food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)
- Serving meals and keeping the serving area stocked and tidy
- Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and canteen
- Operating the cash register at mealtimes
- Handling leftover food storage and recordkeeping
- Cleaning tables, food stations, and kitchen areas
- Supporting customer service standards in line with company policies
- Participating in team meetings and required training sessions
- Responding to client and customer feedback
- Performing related duties as requested by management
You will play a critical role in ensuring that customers receive quality meals in a clean, well-organized environment.
✅ Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have completed at least a National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Must be honest, reliable, and professional
- Must be able to communicate well with teammates and customers
- Be able to work on your feet for long hours, bend, stand, and lift when required
- Must have good personal hygiene and no food-related skin allergies
- Must be willing to work 45–50 hours per week
