Job Purpose
As a Food Service Aid at SAPS Academy Philippi, you will support the catering operations by preparing and serving meals, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring a well-organized dining environment. This permanent role, with a salary of R138,486 per annum, contributes to the well-being of police trainees and staff, fostering a disciplined and professional setting.
Core Functions
- Prepare and serve refreshments for trainees and staff.
- Provide food service support, including meal preparation and distribution.
- Cook meals and clean kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Set up and prepare dining halls for meals.
- Ensure a clean and hygienic working environment in kitchen and dining areas.
Generic Requirements
- Demonstrate competency in core food service functions.
- Fluency in at least two official South African languages, including English.
- South African citizenship with a valid ID.
- No previous or pending criminal/departmental convictions or cases.
- Willingness to undergo vetting, including security screening and fingerprint verification.
Additional Requirements
- Grade 10 qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and write.
- Capability to operate basic machines and equipment (e.g., kitchen appliances).
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
