Firefighter

Fidelity Services Group is seeking skilled and dedicated Firefighters to join our Vaal regional team. This role requires quick, decisive action in emergency situations, along with a commitment to protecting lives, property, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fires, rescues, hazardous substance incidents, and other emergencies.
- Provide emergency medical care, extrication, and rescue services.
- Operate and maintain firefighting equipment, vehicles, and apparatus.
- Conduct fire prevention activities, safety inspections, and training sessions.
- Participate in drills, simulation exercises, and physical fitness training.
- Implement safety protocols in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Maintain accurate incident reports, logs, and other documentation.
- Drive and operate heavy and specialized firefighting vehicles.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- IFSAC Accredited and NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification.
- 2–3 years’ firefighting experience (essential).
- Valid Code C1 driver’s licence with PrDP.
- Advanced driving experience (advantageous).
- Physically and medically fit.
- Knowledge of firefighting systems, fire chemistry, and prevention methods.
- Clear criminal record.
- Hazmat experience and knowledge (essential).
- EMT certification and First Aid Levels 1–3.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and within strict timeframes.
- Solid understanding of Hazmat guidelines and operational firefighting procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and customer liaison skills.
