Examination Assistants (Temporary Positions) – Northern Cape 2025/2026

The Northern Cape Department of Education invites suitably qualified students and unemployed matriculants to apply for Temporary Examination Assistant positions for the period September 2025 to August 2026. These positions are available at district offices across the province.

Who Can Apply
Applications are open to:
- Second-, third-, or fourth-year students currently studying at a tertiary institution (Colleges, Universities of Technology, or Universities).
- Unemployed matriculants, who will be considered only if required.
- Preference will be given to students pursuing a teaching qualification at third-year level.
- Only applicants residing in the Northern Cape Province will be considered (attach proof of residence such as a municipal account).
- Northern Cape students studying outside the province will also be considered.
- Applicants with relatives registered for any of the examinations must disclose this information.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will assist with:
- Checking and verifying answer scripts and portfolios.
- Totalling of marks and ensuring accuracy.
- Data capturing of examination information.
- Sorting, packing, and removing scripts/portfolios from the marking and moderation centres.
- Carrying out any other examination-related tasks assigned by the Administrative Manager.
Important Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be willing to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Be able to work under strict supervision and surveillance.

Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form NCED – EAT/2025/26, obtainable from the Head Office or any District Office.
Your application must include certified copies of the following documents:
- Identity Document (ID).
- National Senior Certificate.
- Proof of student status (Tertiary Qualifications).
- Proof of residential address.
