  • Overseeing lost and damaged baggage claims

  • Delegating baggage processing tasks to supervisors and agents to ensure claims are handled correctly and on time

Staff Supervision and People Management

As a senior officer, staff leadership is a big part of the role. Your duties will include:

  • Managing and supervising staff on shift to ensure all operational areas are covered
  • Supporting the Airport Services Manager with duty rosters and annual leave planning
  • Helping with staff performance reviews, setting objectives, and supporting development plans

Monitoring Service Performance

To maintain Emirates’ service standards, you will:

  • Monitor operations across Customer Services, Ticket Desk, Ramp, and Lounge
  • Track service performance indicators and ensure targets are consistently met
  • Set up regular reporting to highlight service issues early and take corrective action

Administration and Reporting

You will also handle important administrative tasks, including:

  • Managing and controlling operational documents such as revenue records, cargo documents, and handling reports
  • Making sure information is accurate to protect revenue and avoid discrepancies
  • Attending meetings on behalf of Emirates when required and representing the airline’s interests professionally

Safety, Compliance, and Improvement

Minimum Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
  • Completed relevant professional training in customer service and ground operations
  • Eligibility to live and work in South Africa

Experience Needed for the Role

This is a senior airport operations role. Applicants must have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in airport customer handling or airport operations
  • A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership position
