Job PurposeResponsible for the preparation, delivering and facilitation of integrated waste
management/minimization educational programmes at grassroots level for community based
structures, communities, schools, transport industry and all sectors of businesses, through
disseminating of information, encouraging involvement in order to impact positively to the
effectiveness of Waste management plan, sustainable development goals and to achieve eThekwini 
vision.
Key Responsibility Areas• Customize and facilitate comprehensive educational programmes/campaigns in schools,
communities, businesses, transport industry and other sectors.
• Co-ordinate CSW waste management programmes/projects aligned with environmental calendar.
• Liaise with public, other municipal departments and outside organisations (customer interaction).
• Promote correct waste management education/waste minimisation in communities, 
schools, industries, formal and informal businesses, residents and crowd events.
• Actively promote safety and incident prevention in the working environment.
• Provides and administrative functions in order to ensure proper reporting and record keeping.

Essential Requirements• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and a certificate in one of the following fields:
   Environmental Public Relations Communication or any other related and equivalent certificate.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields: Environmental Public Relations 
   Communication Social Science Education or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• 4 Years relevant experience.
