About the Learnership
Dis-Chem Pharmacies offers a 12-month Dispensary Support Learnership at its Montana store in Pretoria, Gauteng, for unemployed youth with Grade 12 to complete the Basic Pharmacist Assistant course. Aligned with W&RSETA, this program provides practical pharmacy training and an NQF certification, with potential permanent employment upon SAPC registration.
Job Purpose
The learnership addresses 45.5% youth unemployment by equipping participants with pharmacy skills, supporting Dis-Chem’s mission to deliver quality healthcare across 150+ stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell Schedule 1 medicines and assist with non-sterile medicine compounding per SOPs.
- Unpack, merchandise, and clean dispensary/OTC shelves.
- Interpret scripts accurately and comply with SAPC regulations.
- Perform tasks assigned by the Dispensary Manager.

Eligibility Criteria
- South African citizen, unemployed, under 35.
- Grade 12 with 50% in Pure Mathematics and Life/Physical Science.
- No prior related learnerships completed.
- Pass SAPC proficiency test for registration.
