The Department of Health is currently inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Stores Assistant vacancy within the Logistics Directorate. Salary Package

R138 486 – R163 131 per annum, plus government benefits.


Minimum Requirements

  • AET Level 4 (Standard 7 or Grade 9 report) or Grade 12
  • At least six (6) months relevant experience in stores or warehouse operations
  • Good organising and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • valid driver’s licence
  • Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and computer literacy will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily store operations, including but not limited to:

  • Issuing stock from shelves using VA2 documentation
  • Packing stock according to the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle
  • Receiving stock from transit using VA7
  • Recording issued transactions on VA11 and updating it during stock receipts
  • Offloading bulk stock from delivery trucks
  • Maintaining cleanliness of stores, corridors, and surrounding areas
  • Participating in stock-taking exercises within the Ekurhuleni Health District
  • Ensuring issued stock is delivered to end-users
  • Assisting with reports on issued stock and outstanding requisitions
  • Collecting and delivering bulk stock, including collections from Government Printing Works
  • Performing any other duties as delegated by the supervisor
