Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- ABET qualification or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- Hospital experience will be an added advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for supporting hospital operations by performing the following duties:
- Assisting with loading and unloading patients into ambulances and private vehicles
- Escorting walking and non-walking patients from reception or casualty to wards and other service areas
- Transporting patients using wheelchairs and stretchers
- Assisting nursing staff with patient transfers between wards
- Delivering medical documentation to wards and other hospital departments
- Transporting deceased patients from wards to the mortuary and placing them in storage shelves
- Cleaning and maintaining porter equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers
- Reporting damaged equipment and ensuring it is repaired or replaced
