Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • ABET qualification or equivalent
  • Ability to read and write
  • Hospital experience will be an added advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for supporting hospital operations by performing the following duties:

  • Assisting with loading and unloading patients into ambulances and private vehicles
  • Escorting walking and non-walking patients from reception or casualty to wards and other service areas
  • Transporting patients using wheelchairs and stretchers
  • Assisting nursing staff with patient transfers between wards
  • Delivering medical documentation to wards and other hospital departments
  • Transporting deceased patients from wards to the mortuary and placing them in storage shelves
  • Cleaning and maintaining porter equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers
  • Reporting damaged equipment and ensuring it is repaired or replaced
