Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Relevant groundsman or gardening experience, especially in managing large grounds
- A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Willing to work overtime when required
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate should have:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices
- Ability to work in environments with people living with disabilities or mental healthcare needs
- Experience in using gardening tools and equipment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining hospital grounds and supporting daily operations. Duties include:
- Maintaining clean and well-kept hospital gardens and outdoor areas
- Performing gardening tasks, including planting, pruning trees, and lawn care
- Cleaning gutters and surrounding outdoor spaces
- Removing domestic and medical waste safely
- Providing support to the grounds supervisor
- Ensuring all work follows health and safety standards
