The De Beers Engineering Learnership 2026 is a structured artisan development programme designed to equip participants with technical skills and industry-recognized occupational qualifications. The programme combines theoretical instruction and practical workplace training to prepare learners for a career in engineering trades within the mining sector.

This learnership is hosted at Venetia Mine in Musina, Limpopo, South Africa, with formal training conducted at the company’s accredited training centre in Randfontein. Successful candidates will enter into a four-year learnership contract aligned with a QCTO occupational qualification registered with the MQA.

Learnership Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), Physical Science, and English, each with at least 40%
  • Alternatively N2 qualification with four subjects relevant to the selected trade
  • Or NCV Level 3 with at least 40% in Mathematics and related subjects
  • Ability to interpret technical information and engineering drawings
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
  • Capability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Willingness to travel to the Randfontein training centre when required
  • Must pass medical fitness testing required for mining (Red Ticket)
  • Successful completion of psychometric and technical assessments
  • Clean criminal record verification through SAPS
  • Ability to maintain high professional and safety standards.
