Position Overview
Job Title: Data Capturer
Location: Eugene Marais Pre-lab, Pretoria
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Working Hours: Shifts between 06h00 and 20h00 (including weekends and public holidays)
The Data Capturer will be responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining laboratory data within PathCare’s information systems. This role requires high attention to detail, strong typing skills, and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Capturer, your main duties will include:
- Capturing and verifying patient and test data accurately in the laboratory information system.
- Reviewing data for errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and ensuring timely corrections.
- Supporting laboratory and administrative teams with data-related queries.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards.
- Assisting with audits, quality assurance, and record-keeping processes.
- Working efficiently to meet daily workload targets while upholding accuracy and quality standards.
- Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Previous experience in administration or data capturing (healthcare or laboratory environment an advantage).
- Basic understanding of medical terminology preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English (understanding of Afrikaans beneficial).
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality.
