About IHPS

The Institute of Health Programs and Systems (IHPS) is a South African non-profit company established in 2010 following the PEPFAR CDC Track 1 transition. IHPS partners with the National Department of Health as a Global Fund Sub-Recipient, implementing the Tuberculosis (TB) Programme across selected districts in Gauteng, North West, and Northern Cape Provinces.

IHPS is currently recruiting three (3) Data Capturer / Driver positions to support TB services in the Frances Baard Health District.


Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Reporting

  • Capture, record, verify, and report TB screening data from facilities and community outreach
  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly data reports
  • Conduct data quality checks, validation, and clean-up
  • Ensure timely identification and reporting of linkage and referral data
  • Provide system-generated reports highlighting progress, challenges, and outcomes
  • Perform filing, administrative, and ad-hoc duties as required

Driving & Outreach Support

  • Drive the Digital Chest X-Ray (DCXR) vehicle to health facilities and community outreach sites
  • Prepare the DCXR vehicle daily and maintain an accurate vehicle logbook
  • Support community outreach activities and social mobilisation for TB screening
  • Participate actively in daily setup and operational readiness

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the M&E Officer and IHPS senior management

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
  • Valid South African Code 10 Driver’s Licence with Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • Minimum 2 years’ driving experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in data capturing and reporting
  • Willingness to travel and work after hours
  • Compliance with all road traffic laws and regulations

Added Advantages

  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Data Management, Statistics, Health, Public Health, Social Sciences, IT, or related field
  • Experience capturing TB and HIV data
  • Knowledge of health information systems such as:
    • DHIS
    • TIER.Net
    • EDRWEB
    • PREHIMS / PHCIS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages

Knowledge & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of TB and HIV programmes
  • Experience in health monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
