Job Description

The Stores Clerk will be a key member of the Stores department, reporting directly to the Senior Supply Manager. The main purpose of this role is to manage inventory levels to ensure that customers receive the correct quantity and quality of spares, equipment, raw materials, and tools as needed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Receive and issue inventory accurately.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve situational problems as they arise.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain and enforce safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Inventory Information: Provide accurate inventory information as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Compile and issue necessary documentation and reports.
  • Waste Management: Report on disposed waste and obsolete materials.
  • Delivery Monitoring: Track and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics.
  • Certification in stores/inventory management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a stores environment.
  • Proficient in computer use; experience with SAP and Excel is advantageous.
  • Must pass a clean criminal and credit check.


  • Principles of store and inventory management.
  • Safety and housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software.
  • Understanding of organizational structures and technical requirements.
