Clinic Receptionist

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Sandown, Parklands is seeking a professional and friendly Clinic Receptionist to join the team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients both in person and over the phone, ensuring a smooth flow of appointments, accurate documentation, and exceptional customer service to support high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Register patients in line with company standards and policies.
- Assist patients in completing medical and insurance forms.
- Maintain and monitor clinic equipment, stationery, and medication supplies.
- Manage patient records and ensure data accuracy.
- Process medical aid payments and manage scheduling.
- Coordinate the smooth movement of patients through appointments.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organised, and confidential.
- Answer calls promptly, using professional telephone etiquette.
- Relay accurate messages to the correct staff members.
- Assist walk-in visitors with directions for meetings or deliveries.
- Provide accurate area codes, work numbers, and general information when needed.
- Respond to patient emergencies and assist with medical aid authorisation.
- Follow up with patients on requested feedback.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to follow and provide oral and written instructions.
- South African citizenship.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
- Driver’s licence and/or own reliable transport.
