General Worker – Bidvest International Logistics (Rosslyn, Pretoria)
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all general tasks in and around the Container Yard. This must be done in accordance with Bidvest International Logistics’ Standard Operating Procedures (QWI). The role ensures the yard remains clean, safe, and efficiently operated.

Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- 2 years’ experience as a general worker
Experience:
- Proven work experience in a warehouse or container yard
- Must have the necessary safety training and certificates
- Must be safety conscious
Key Responsibilities
Operations:
- Clean the container yard, wash bay, and surrounding office area using a ride-on scrubber
- Report all non-standard conditions
- Inspect container stacks daily for safe and secure stacking
- Complete the daily yard maintenance schedule
- Maintain cleanliness of the ride-on sweeper
- Complete daily machine checklist
- Operate MHE occasionally (less than five times a year)
- Observe and comply with all quality, environmental, health, and safety procedures
- Perform routine checks on MHE and other equipment
- Assist with general yard operations as required

Skills & Competencies
Knowledge:
- Good working knowledge of warehousing principles
- Sound understanding of safe operating procedures for driving and handling MHE
- High attention to detail
Skills:
- Willingness to work flexible shifts
- Basic understanding of English
- Ability to work under high-pressure conditions
- Must be physically fit and able to bend, kneel, and stoop
- Good numerical skills
