About the Job
As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, your main responsibility is to make sure customers have a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. You will be working at the point of sale (POS), handling payments, assisting customers, and keeping the store organized.
This role is important because you are one of the first people customers interact with when they enter the store.
What You Will Be Doing
Your daily duties will include:
- Operating the till and processing customer purchases quickly and accurately
- Handling cash safely and responsibly
- Assisting customers with questions about products and promotions
- Promoting the Clicks ClubCard and helping customers sign up
- Informing customers about special offers and discounts
- Keeping the store clean, neat, and well-organized
- Restocking shelves and arranging products properly
- Providing friendly and professional customer service at all times
This job requires someone who is attentive, friendly, and able to work under pressure.
Key Job Objectives
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Complete all point of sale tasks efficiently
- Maintain high accuracy when scanning items and processing payments
- Support store sales by promoting products and rewards programs
- Deliver excellent customer service every day
- Help maintain store standards and visual displays

Minimum Requirements

- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Basic maths skills

- Understanding of merchandising and stock control
