Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Successfully completed Grade 10 / Standard 8 / ABET Level 4
- Previous exposure to a cleaning services environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and awareness of Batho Pele principles
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the department. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Cleaning all offices, boardrooms and ablution facilities
- Washing cutlery and crockery
- Preparing refreshments for meetings
- Locking boardrooms after meetings
- Emptying refuse bins and replacing bin liners daily (morning and afternoon)
- Dusting, polishing and cleaning furniture and surfaces
- Cleaning and sanitising wash basins
- Ensuring cleaning checklists are properly maintained
- Refilling hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels
- Cleaning passages and corridors on a daily basis
- Performing spring cleaning of offices
- Reporting faulty equipment or assets to the supervisor
- Ensuring all cleaning equipment is clean, safe and securely stored
- Assisting the supervisor with additional duties as required within the unit
