Position Purpose

The Associate Intern role provides 12-month internships in Midrand, Gauteng, for young professionals to gain workplace experience in fields like IT, Cyber Security, Forensics, Networks, Procurement, Strategy, and more. Interns earn a R4,500–R7,000 monthly stipend, actively contribute to business processes, and build skills for long-term career success, supporting Cell C’s capacity-building goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with operational tasks, project support, and administrative functions in assigned division (e.g., IT, Procurement, Forensics).
  • Conduct research, compile reports, and support data analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing solutions for business challenges.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders under supervisor guidance.
  • Maintain a log of work, learning milestones, and internship progress.
  • Uphold professional conduct, confidentiality, and Cell C’s values.

Eligibility Criteria

  • South African citizen aged 18–35 (preferred).
  • Currently completing or recently completed a Diploma/Degree in one of the following fields:
    • IT and Cyber Security: BSc Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security; Diploma in Information Security; BEng Computer/Software Engineering; Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security; CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH certifications.
    • Forensics Investigation: BCom Forensic Accounting, Law, Forensic Science; National Diploma in Forensic Investigation; Postgraduate Diploma in Fraud Risk Management; CFE, BCom Internal Auditing.
    • Networks: BEng Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering; National Diploma/BTech Electrical/Telecommunications; BSc Computer Systems/Networking; CCNA, CCNP; Postgraduate Diploma in Network Engineering.
    • Procurement: BCom Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations; National Diploma in Procurement; CIPS Qualification; Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Sourcing.
    • Strategy and Business Transformation: Bachelors in Economics, Strategic Management; BEng; Qualifications in Design Thinking, Data Science, Innovation Management.
    • Customer Value Management: BCom Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics; BSc Data Science, Statistics; BBA; Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Analytics; Certifications in SQL, Power BI, Python, CRM.
    • Psychometry: HPCSA-accredited BPsych or Masters in Psychology/Industrial Psychology; HPCSA registration as Psychometrist.
    • Finance: BCom Accounting, Financial Management; Diploma in Accounting; CA(SA), CIMA; Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Reporting.
    • Risk, Compliance, Business Continuity: Bachelors in Risk Management, Finance, Law, Compliance, Disaster Management; BCom Internal Auditing.
  • 6–11 months of relevant experience preferred (e.g., prior internships, projects).
  • No prior formal full-time employment required.
  • Clear criminal record, verified via background checks.
  • Residence in or near Midrand, Gauteng, for reliable commuting.
  • Commitment to a 12-month internship.
