About the AppCentrix Data Science Learnership 2025-2026
AppCentrix is looking for candidates who would like to obtain theoretical knowledge and pracitcal skills focusing on the growing department of Data Science. AppCentrix is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its 12-month Data Science Learnership Programme, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering aspiring young professionals to launch their careers in the dynamic field of data science. This learnership has been carefully designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and workplace application, offering participants the chance to gain meaningful industry exposure while developing critical technical and professional skills.

Through the programme, learners will benefit from practical, hands-on experience in data science, working directly with real-world tools and projects that reflect current industry demands. Eligibility Criteria

The AppCentrix Data Science Learnership Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

1. Basic Qualifications

• Hold South African citizenship
• Reside in Gauteng at the time of application
• Remain unemployed and be available to participate full-time starting 01 October 2025
• Provide a valid medical or disability letter if applying as a person living with a disability.

2. Academic Qualifications

• Hold an NQF Level 6 or higher qualification (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree)
• Pursue studies in one of the preferred fields listed below:
  • Mathematics / Applied Mathematics
  • Any other quantitative or technical field
  • Computer Science / Information Systems
  • Data Science / Statistics
  • Business Analytics / Economics
  • Engineering / Physics

3. Personal Competencies

• Apply logical thinking and creativity to analyze challenges and develop effective solutions
• Use numerical skills and foundational statistical knowledge to interpret data with confidence
• Leverage computer skills by working efficiently with Excel, email, and online platforms
• Demonstrate curiosity and passion for data, technology, and programming-related fields
• Stay motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous learning
• Embrace feedback, show resilience under pressure, and remain adaptable to coaching
• Practice professionalism by communicating clearly and conducting yourself responsibly
