Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification – essential for this role.
- 1-2 years of administrative experience in a medical or laboratory setting.
- 1-3 years of general work experience in a structured environment.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills.
- Ability to perform basic numerical calculations accurately.
Having prior experience in a healthcare or laboratory environment will be an added advantage, as it ensures you understand the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, and meeting strict timelines.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pre-Lab Admin Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Receiving and sorting specimens for processing.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring proper handling of all samples.
- Operating and maintaining automated systems within the laboratory.
- Managing and resolving helpdesk queries with professionalism.
- Filing, discarding, and organizing specimens as per set standards.
- Upholding safety and quality control measures at all times.
- Supporting administrative functions to ensure smooth operations across departments.
