What You’ll Do as a General Worker
As a General Worker at Alexander Frazer, you’ll play a key role in supporting daily operations. Your responsibilities will help ensure the smooth running of activities on-site while maintaining high safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborating with your immediate supervisor to meet operational goals.
- Performing daily inspections in your assigned area to ensure everything is in order.
- Managing and planning tailings material at the site and designated depositing areas.
- Extending and connecting pipelines as required.
- Opening and closing valves based on operational needs.
- Carrying out tasks as instructed by your supervisor to meet specific work requirements.
- Assisting in solving operational challenges and reporting any issues to your supervisor.
- Monitoring and controlling the levels of the tailings dam to maintain its integrity (Mud Guard duties).
- Keeping work areas tidy and organized to ensure good housekeeping practices.
- Strictly following all safety regulations and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Attending toolbox talks and other operational meetings to stay updated on workplace goals and safety practices.
What You Need to Qualify
Alexander Frazer is looking for individuals who meet the following qualifications and possess the required skills:
Qualifications:
- A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
Experience:
- Between 1 to 5 years of experience in a Fraser or tailings environment.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- A team player who is observant and attentive to detail.
- Good listening skills.
General Requirements:
- Must pass the mine’s criminal screening process.
- Be prepared to work rotating shifts as required.
- Willingness to work overtime occasionally.
- Must be physically, mentally, and medically fit to perform the duties.
