1. Apprentice (First Year)
The first year of the apprenticeship focuses on Basic Training at an approved facility in your chosen trade. This is where you’ll build a strong foundation in aviation knowledge, covering everything from safety protocols to essential technical skills. Think of it as the starting point of your journey, giving you the confidence and know-how to step into more hands-on roles in the future.
2. Apprentice (On the Job Training)
In this role, you’ll be part of the team responsible for maintaining a fleet of modern turbine-powered aircraft. You’ll get hands-on experience across different areas of aircraft maintenance while working alongside experienced professionals who will guide you through the process. This training is part of your On-the-Job Training (OJT), which is a crucial step in becoming fully qualified in your trade. It’s an incredible chance to develop real expertise while contributing to a fast-paced and exciting industry.
Eligibility Criteria

The Airlink Travel & Tourism Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
1. First Year Apprenticeship Requirements
- Obtain a minimum Grade 12 Matric Certificate with at least 65% in Pure Mathematics and a Science subject
- Hold a qualification related to Engineering or Aircraft studies
- Ensure you are currently unemployed and willing to commit to a three-year apprenticeship program.
2. On the Job Training Apprenticeship Requirements
- Complete a 35-week theoretical training program at a reputable academy, covering basic theory and practical training in mechanical, avionic, or a related trade, with a minimum pass mark of 75%
- Obtain a Grade 12/Matric Certificate or an equivalent qualification with at least 65% in Pure Mathematics and a Science subject
- Gain hands-on maintenance experience on live aircraft within an AMO or engineering environment.

Closing Date
Applications for the Airlink Travel & Tourism Apprenticeship must be submitted before the closing date on 17 February 2025.
