Position Overview
Job Title: Cleaner
Department: Operations / Facilities
Location: Johannesburg (and other Airlink stations as required)
Type: Permanent / Full-time
The Cleaner will play an essential role in maintaining hygiene and presentation standards across Airlink aircraft, offices, and facilities. The position ensures compliance with health and safety regulations while supporting operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered:
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent N4 qualification.
- Experience: Previous work experience within a cleaning or aviation environment is advantageous.
- Training: Completion of safety and hazard awareness training is required.
- Good command of the English language (verbal and written).
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the operation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Cleaning and sanitising aircraft cabins, offices, and operational areas in accordance with company and safety standards.
- Maintaining stock levels of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Following safety guidelines and using appropriate protective equipment when handling cleaning chemicals.
- Ensuring waste is properly disposed of according to aviation and environmental regulations.
- Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or irregularities to the supervisor.
- Supporting operational teams to ensure a smooth aircraft turnaround process.
- Adhering strictly to Airlink’s safety and quality assurance procedures.
