✅ Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Assist in preparing meals and food products for learners and staff.
- Perform cutting, cleaning, and pre-preparation of ingredients.
- Help in cooking hot meals when required.
- Provide feedback to the head Cook regarding food quality.
- Support special event catering when needed.
- Step in to cover the Cook’s duties if they are unavailable.
- Kitchen Hygiene & Safety:
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas at all times.
- Wear appropriate kitchen safety attire.
- Assist in cleaning equipment and kitchen facilities.
- Support the Cook with health, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Adhere to all food handling rules and regulations.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
- Qualifications: Formal cooking qualification
- Experience: Previous experience as an Assistant Cook
- Personal Attributes: Energetic, positive attitude, and a clear criminal record
