About the AfriSam Boilermaker Learnership 2025
AfriSam is on the search for applicants who would like to receive an opportunity to obtain theoretical knowledge and practical skills via their Boilermaker learnership.  The AfriSam Boilermaker Learnership is specifically aimed at unemployed youth who demonstrate a strong technical aptitude. Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria and possess the necessary qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates selected for the AfriSam Boilermaker Learnership will be required to enter into an 18.2 Learnership Agreement as a condition of participation in the programme. This agreement will be officially registered with the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) to ensure compliance with national training standards and regulations.

Throughout the duration of the programme, learners will engage in a structured and comprehensive curriculum that integrates both classroom-based theoretical instruction and hands-on practical experience within a real workplace environment. Guided by qualified training providers and experienced mentors, learners will be expected to demonstrate continuous growth and development as they work toward obtaining a recognized industry qualification.

  • Jukskei Quarry: X1 Position
  • Eikenhof Quarry: X1 Position

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants interested in the AfriSam Boilermaker Learnership are required to meet a specific set of eligibility criteria before submitting their applications. The AfriSam Boilermaker Learnership Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Complete Grade 12 with passes in Pure Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), Physical Science, and English
  • Obtain an N2 Certificate with four relevant subjects, including Mathematics, Engineering Science, and two additional trade-related subjects
  • Earn a relevant Engineering NCV Certificate with seven subjects at NQF Level 4
  • Finish Technical Grade 11 with Mathematics, Science, a Language subject, and a trade-related theory subject
  • Acquire a relevant N6 Certificate or a National Technical Diploma (T, S, or N stream) that aligns directly with the trade theory subjects
  • Possess a valid driver’s license to your advantage.
